HTML Help: General Options

1.On the Project tab, in the Project group, click Project Options.

2.In the Project Options dialog, in the left sidebar, click HTML Help.

3.Change the parameters that you need.

4.Click OK.

 

Below is a description of the parameters in this section.

 

Language

Defines the language of your help project. Click Change Language Settings to set the language in which your help file is written in.

Note: The HTML Help viewer does not support Unicode in its own windows and it uses this parameter to properly display the Contents, Index, and other tabs.

 

Font

Defines default font settings such as Font Name, Size, and Character set. Click Change to set your preferred font settings.

Create Table of Contents

Specifies whether to create the Table of Contents in the compiled HTML Help (.CHM) file.

 

Create Index

Specifies whether to create the keyword Index in the compiled HTML Help (.CHM) file.

 

Default topic template

Allows you to set the default template that will be applied to the help topics when you compile the HTML Help file.

Note that individual topics can override this setting and either use a different template or use no template.
