How to create a template for the Markdown format

I've downloaded the latest HelpSmith version to check out the Markdown generation capability.

While it works fine on the sample help projects, on our existing projects, we do not have a template for the Markdown format. As a result, the generated documentation does not include the titles of the topics.

Q: How do I add a template for the Markdown format to existing help projects?

How do I add a template for the Markdown format to existing help projects?

If you have an existing help project which does not include a template for the Markdown format, you can add the template as follows:

How to add a template for the Markdown format

  1. On the Project tab, in the Topics & Templates group, click the lower half of the Add button, and then click Add Template.
    Adding a template
  2. In the New Template dialog, in the Title box, enter the template name (for example, Markdown).
  3. In the Create As box, select a simple preset, such as Clean & Simple.
Remark: You will be able to edit the template later.
  4. In the Use As Default Template box, set the Markdown option.
    Settings of the new template
  5. Click OK.
