How to install HelpSmith on a terminal server?
We are considering HelpSmith Terminal Server edition (floating licenses) for use in our company.
Can you provide more information on HelpSmith Terminal Server edition:
- How can we install it in our network?
- How do we manage floating licenses?
- What are terminal server requirements?
- Can HelpSmith be installed on Citrix server?
Thank you!
HelpSmith Terminal Server Edition (floating licenses)
HelpSmith Terminal Server Edition allows you to install HelpSmith on a terminal server, such as Citrix Virtual Apps (formerly XenApp), for usage in the client/server environment.
In this case, the number of floating licenses determines how many users can access/use HelpSmith from the server at the same time (concurrent usage) through a client app, such as Citrix Workspace.
How to Install HelpSmith on a Terminal Server
You can install HelpSmith Terminal Server Edition on a terminal server similarly to other Windows applications.
To start the installation process, you should run the HelpSmithSetup.exe file and follow the instructions.
How to activate HelpSmith with floating licenses
Currently HelpSmith uses a single online activation system for all editions and does not include a server-side license management software. This means that you should use standard instructions to activate your HelpSmith copies with a floating license.
How to apply your license key
Please note that you should apply your license key on the workstation for each HelpSmith user:
